I started running in 2008 as a way to get fit. I was 250 pounds and needed a change. Early 2009 a friend talked me into a 5k and I was hooked. I had done a marathon in 2012 and it sucked a lot, knew nothing about fueling at all. 2013 I started training for ultras and found Hammer Nutrition. Needless to say this changed everything. It took me about 2 years to completely figure out how my body works and best use of Hammer products and timing. By the time I moved to triathlon in 2018 I had my fueling down to a science which made the transition to longer distance triathlon a bit easier for me. Now having all of this under my belt I am a triathlon coach and one of the 1st things I teach is fueling and the importance of it in pre during and post workouts and races!
