In the last hour, two calls came in to Hammer headquarters with the exact same question. What's with all this new vegan stuff? they asked. One continued on, clearly concerned. Is Hammer going vegan? they asked. ˜Cause I'm not into that! They are of course, referring to our new Vegan Recoverite and Vegan Tissue Rejuvenator.
It's always interesting to see customer response to new products. Knowing our history of quality and effectiveness, many jump on board immediately. We're not shy about sharing some hard stances on diet and business values, so maybe we shouldn't be surprised when others project stances or messages onto them. But don't worry, just because we have vegan options doesn't mean we're asking you to change your dinner plans - at least not in that way.
If you've been with us for any time at all, you know that we do write strongly and frequently about certain health issues. We will never stop pushing for the avoidance of simple sugars or overconsumption of salt, chemicals, additives, or over-the-counter drugs (such as NSAIDs). Likewise, we're not shy about the importance of eating whole foods, choosing organic and local whenever possible, and reducing or eliminating your intake of gluten, dairy, and other inflammatory foods. So yes, we take some hard stances. But that's not what this is really about.
The goal of Vegan Recoverite and Vegan Tissue Rejuvenator is to offer quality options for everyone. Just like Hammer Vegan Protein offered an alternative to our incredibly pure (grass-fed and nearly entirely lactose-free) Hammer Whey for those who prefer to avoid animal products, these expand the selection for the same group. This shouldn't be understood as a mandate that others join in on their approach. Rather, it's an acknowledgement that a growing number of our customers (and people in general) eat this way, and that they have been asking for these particular products.
While we aren't telling anyone that they have to switch to these products, we ARE telling vegans that they should prioritize their recovery and cease consumption of NSAIDs - just like we tell everyone else that'll listen. And now, we've matched up those suggestions with appropriate product solutions. They're designed with this in mind, but great for everyone.
Vegan Recoverite is a delicious, organic, GMO-free recovery drink suitable for all. It uses pea protein instead of the whey isolate found in the original Recoverite. Pea protein is admittedly absorbed slower, but has one of the best amino acid profiles available. The carbohydrate source is from tapioca, so it's also grain-free and has a sweeter taste profile than the original, but of course does not include added refined sugars. In fact, many non-vegans have been enjoying Vegan Recoverite simply as a change from the original. After all, many of them have been using the original regularly for years - and it has been our best-selling product for years for good reason! Of course, Vegan Recoverite is incredibly effective as well. This opens the doors wider, so that everyone can access those same benefits.
Vegan Tissue Rejuvenator follows an equally simple train of thought. We make an awesome product - Tissue Rejuvenator - which some choose not to take due to its inclusion of animal-derived ingredients. But these people still deal with inflammatory issues, and NSAIDs can harm them just as much as the rest of us. They need an alternative. This is it
As with Recoverite, the original is still available and still effective, but it's OK to try out both. You don't have to swear off meat to enjoy it.
At the end of the day, these projects all stem from a theme you'll find throughout our entire product line. We strive to make all our products as clean, pure, and free of allergens as possible, so that everyone can put them to use. That's why all of our products are gluten-free. Many are also kosher, and some that contain dairy are kosher-dairy. They're organic and non-GMO when feasible, and everything meets the highest industry standards for purity and potency. Nothing contains added refined sugars. Even still, we're constantly looking for ways to make our great products even better.
