Coenzyme Q10 Powerfully Protects the Kidneys

With the volume of blood and high concentration of toxins that circulate through the kidneys, it’s not a stretch to say that they are under constant bombardment. The amounts of free radicals the kidneys are subjected to can easily overwhelm the body’s antioxidant defenses. Left unchecked, this excess oxidative stress contributes to progressive kidney damage and an increased risk for developing chronic kidney disease (CKD). According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), “We estimate that more than 10% of adults in the United States—more than 20 million people—may have CKD, of varying levels of seriousness.”

Not quite a year ago, I wrote about a study that showed that higher nutrient intake—specifically folate, vitamin B12, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, magnesium and potassium—is correlated with a lower risk of developing chronic kidney disease (CKD).

NOTE: That same study also found that high sodium intake was associated with a significantly higher risk of CKD.

One more nutrient to add to the list for protecting the kidneys is Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), which is found in Race Caps Supreme. CoQ10 is so powerful, in fact, that new research shows that it even provides benefits for individuals who already have CKD.

According to lead researcher, Marzieh Bakhshayeshkaram, PhD, “Chronic kidney disease is associated with an increased prevalence of all-cause mortality, diabetic nephropathy, cardiovascular events and hospitalization, regardless of existing risk factors and a history of cardiovascular disease. Increased biomarkers of oxidative stress… have been identified as a major contributor to the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and other cardiovascular disease.”

In this latest research, a total of nearly 400 men and women, all of whom have CKD, were given a daily dose of between 30 mg and 200 mg of CoQ10 for periods lasting from 4 to 12 weeks. At the end of the various CoQ10 dosing periods, the researchers found that CoQ10 provided significant benefits, via decreases in total cholesterol, LDL (“bad”) cholesterol, malondialdehyde (a marker of oxidative stress), creatinine (a chemical waste product that is elevated in kidney disease).

We, of course, want to avoid kidney disease at all costs, and this study should impress not primarily for the powerful benefits of CoQ10 in people who already have CKD, but even more so for the extraordinary benefits that this powerful nutrient can provide to protect us against this dreaded disease.

A daily dose of one to three capsules of Race Caps Supreme will supply your body with enough CoQ10 to easily “cover” the amounts used in this study. Plus, with Race Caps Supreme, you’ll be giving your body numerous other multi-beneficial nutrients, including CoQ10’s “near twin,” idebenone.

Make sure that you take Race Caps Supreme every day, even on your non-workout days. It’s not just a good idea; it’s essential!
