Jessi’s story:

Fall Classic Antelope 50 k

Pre-race: 15 minutes before race she had a Hammer Gel®

During race: Ate another Hammer Gel® after the first 4 miles and every 45 minutes after that. She ate a half of a Raw Protein Hammer Bar® at mile 10 and the second half at mile 17. She also took 2 Endurolytes® capsules and 2 Anti-Fatigue Caps. In the last 10 miles she took one more Hammer Gel®.

Post-race: Drank 2 scoops of Chocolate Recoverite® and ran another twenty miles at the Grand Canyon.

It started out as a cold, brisk morning. The race started at 8 am. Fifteen minutes before the start, I ate a Hammer Gel®, grabbed my handheld containing Endurolytes Fizz® and headed to the start line.

The race starts out with a long steep climb. Most of the climbing is accomplished in the first 10 miles. I ate another Hammer Gel® at the first aid station, mile 4. My energy level was staying pretty consistent and I fueled with a Hammer Gel® every 45 minutes. I ate half a raw Hammer Bar® at mile 10 and the other half at mile 17. I also took two Endurolytes® capsules and two Anti-Fatigue Caps when my legs started to feel tired and the energy got a little low. The last ten miles had a pretty big headwind and a slight incline all the way to the finish. I took one more Hammer Gel® at the last aid station and hammered to the finish.

What I love about Hammer products is that my gut doesn’t get upset with the gels and the bars digest so quickly. I have tried a lot of electrolyte capsules and I never get the ratio right. I feel amazing on Endurolytes® and they have really helped combat my chronic race nausea. I also love the slight fizz and tame flavor of the Endurolytes Fizz® tablets, which also tame my stomach distress. Finally, I could not compete, train, and recover without Recoverite®. It is hands down the best supplement on the market.
